TB603 is a California regulation for open flame resistance that goes into effect throughout California in January 2005. What this means is that all new mattresses sold in California must pass these newer, more stringent laws. This is important because California sets the tone for residential safety standards. Generally speaking, as California goes, so goes the nation. CAL TB603 will most likely set a precedent for the nation after the regulation is set in place.
